Plywood (one of the commonly used materials for furniture)

Plywood is a three-layer or multi-layer board like material made by rotary cutting wooden sections into veneers or by planing wooden blocks into thin pieces, and then bonding them together with adhesive. It is usually made of odd numbered veneers and bonded together with adjacent layers of veneers with their fiber directions perpendicular to each other.

Plywood is one of the commonly used materials for furniture and one of the three major types of artificial boards. It can also be used as a functional material for airplanes, ships, trains, automobiles, construction, and packaging boxes. A set of veneers is usually glued together perpendicular to each other in the direction of adjacent wood grain layers, and the surface and inner layers are usually symmetrically arranged on both sides of the central layer or core. A slab made by interweaving glued veneers in the direction of wood grain and pressing them under heating or non heating conditions. The number of layers is generally odd, and there are even numbers in a few cases. The differences in physical and mechanical properties in the longitudinal and transverse directions are relatively small. The commonly used types of plywood include plywood, plywood, etc. Plywood can improve the utilization rate of wood and is a major way to save wood.

The usual length and width specifications are 1220 × 2440mm, while thickness specifications generally include 3, 5, 9, 12, 15, 18mm, etc. The main tree species include: beech, camphor, willow, poplar, eucalyptus, etc.
